    Dr Paul Rodgers, Managing Director of Ithaka Life Sciences, will be taking part alongside Mironid employees in the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow on October 1st, 2017. This is to help raise awareness for polycystic kidney disease (PKD), the world's most common inherited life-threatening condition.

    Mironid Announces Closing of £4.3 million Series A Financing

    Mironid Ltd, a leader in cell signalling directed drug development, that was co-founded by Dr Paul Rodgers of Ithaka Life Sciences, Prof Miles Houslay and colleagues, today announced the closing of its Series A funding round of £4.3 million, which will support the Company’s internal research and preclinical development programmes, focused on degenerative kidney disease, major inflammatory disease and cancer. The funding round was led by Epidarex Capital. The Scottish Investment Bank, on behalf of Scottish Enterprise, and the University of Strathclyde also participated in the round.

    Ithaka client wins prestigious life science ‘Oscar’

    A business developed out of the Universities of Aberdeen and St Andrews with Ithaka’s assistance has won a prestigious life science ‘Oscar’. Ripptide Pharma Ltd picked up the prize at the 16th annual Scottish Enterprise Life Science Awards during a ceremony held on Thursday 4th February at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.
    Ripptide has developed a revolutionary new method for creating a class of therapeutic drugs, called macrocycles, which can address a large number of poorly treated conditions, but are complex to create. Ripptide was co-founded in September 2015 by Professor Marcel Jaspars from the University of Aberdeen, Professor Jim Naismith from the University of St Andrews, and Bill Primrose of Ithaka, who is driving the commercialisation of the technology.
